Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani held consultation in a video conference format, Turkmen Foreign Minister said in a press release.
During the constructive talks, the heads of the MFAs of the countries exchanged views regarding the current state and perspectives of development of interstate relations, and on the collaboration in the framework of leading international organizations.
The diplomats reiterated the mutual interest of Ashgabat and Manama to the promotion of political-diplomatic dialogue, strengthening of trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian cooperation.
The officials also discussed the regional issues and consolidation of efforts of the countries aimed at countering the coronavirus pandemic. In this context, the parties confirmed the relevance of the initiative of the President of Turkmenistan on the establishment of the Council of Medical Scientists and use of effective methods of scientific diplomacy.
Additionally, the interlocutors noted the importance of organizing joint business forums, development of cooperation in such spheres as energy and gas chemical industry. The diplomats considered the opportunities of conducting online meetings between the representatives of various public and private entities of Turkmenistan and Bahrain.
