Turkmenistan Aims to Boost Transport, Transit Ties With Georgia
The officials particularly focused on the activation of the project of the Caspian Sea – Black sea international transport corridor and on its legal framework.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held a virtual meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia David Zalkaliani on Monday, Turkmen Foreign Ministry said in a press release.

During the talks, the ministers discussed the key issues of bilateral agenda and underlined the high level of political-diplomatic dialogue between the two countries.

The foreign ministers considered the cooperation on the development of joint transport and transit routes. The officials particularly focused on the activation of the project of the Caspian Sea – Black sea international transport corridor and on its legal framework.

The parties also underlined the importance of the Lapis Lazuli transport project in the context of acceleration of interregional trade and economic collaboration and stated the significance of uninterrupted transportation and supply through the effective use of automobile routes and seaports.

During the videoconference, the ministers also discussed opportunities of intensifying cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
