Mission of International Monetary Fund (IMF) to Turkmenistan led by Natalia Tamirisa on Friday held consultations with the management of the Central Bank of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan and the State Committee on Statistics of Turkmenistan, TDH news agency reports
The meetings participants discussed the tendencies of economic development of Turkmenistan. The officials also analyzed the data for the first half of 2020 and updated indicators for the execution of the State budget for this year and for the draft budget for 2021.
The parties considered the preparation of the IMF’s World Economic Outlook, October 2020 report, which will assess the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the medium-term prospects of economic development of countries, including Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, the sides highlighted the importance of comprehensive measures taken in the country to increase investment in strengthening the capacity of the domestic healthcare system.
The International Monetary Fund is a partner of Turkmenistan in economic reforms and provides technical assistance to support ongoing macroeconomic reforms.
