Turkmenistan, USAID Discuss Expansion of Cooperation

Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Vepa Hajiyev held online talks on Wednesday with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Country Representative in Turkmenistan Nino Nadiradze.

According to the press release issued by Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan, the meeting participants discussed the issues of expanding cooperation between the Government of Turkmenistan and the USAID, bringing the cooperation to a qualitatively new level.

The sides also exchanged views on the updated Roadmap for Turkmenistan for the next financial year. The officials considered proposals for building up partnerships and implementing a number of joint projects with state structures of Turkmenistan.

Noting the interest of Turkmenistan in ensuring peace, stability and sustainable development in Central Asia and Afghanistan, and the country's existing positive experience in this area, the parties spoke in favor of consolidating efforts in this direction within the framework of cooperation between the United States and the Central Asian states in the C5+1 format.

During the meeting, Vepa Hajiyev congratulated Nadiradze on her new appointment as the USAID Country Representative to Turkmenistan and wished her success in this responsible post.
