Georgia imported 55.9 thousand tons of diesel fuel from Turkmenistan in January-September this year, Business Georgia reported on Tuesday with reference to the Union of Importers of Oil Products of Georgia.
According to the report, the country imported 807.5 thousand tons of gasoline and diesel fuel in January-September 2020, which is 3.6% more than in the same period last year.
In the third quarter, the country received 309.6 thousand tons of gasoline and diesel fuel, which is 22.1% more than in the previous quarter and 8.5% more than in the third quarter of 2019.
At the same time, gasoline imports in January-September decreased by 3.8% - to 388 thousand tons. Most of gasoline was supplied from Russia - 151.2 thousand tons (39% of the total). Romania supplied 96.9 thousand tons (25%), Bulgaria - 62.3 thousand tons (16.1%) and Kazakhstan supplied 26.8 thousand tons (6.9%).
Diesel fuel supplies increased by 11.5% to 419.4 thousand tons. Azerbaijan accounted for 38% of the total volume of imports of diesel fuel (159.3 thousand tons). Russia delivered 99.5 thousand tons of diesel fuel (23.7%), Romania exported 56 thousand tons (13.3%), Turkmenistan supplied 55.9 thousand tons (13.3%) and the rest was supplied from other countries.
In 2019, Georgia imported 1.96 million tons of gasoline and diesel fuel.
