Farmers in Turkmenistan’s Bayramali Expect Rich Harvest of Sugar Beet
The etrap's farmers intend to harvest two crops in a year. Sugar beets are sown after wheat harvest.

Farmers in Bayramali etrap of Turkmenistan’s Mary velayat planted sugar beets on 1,950 hectares of land. In accordance with the established plan, the farmers plan to deliver 26.2 thousand tons of the harvest to Maryşeker OJSC sugar production company.

According to the Maru-Şahu Jahan newspaper’s Thursday issue, the etrap's farmers intend to harvest two crops in a year. Sugar beets are sown after wheat harvest. Soil and climatic features of the region are well suited for the cultivation of the crops.

The newspaper noted that the etrap’s Gökdepe, Täze Ýol and Täze Durmuş farmers' associations have distinguished themselves with particular success in the harvest.

In the Mary velayat in 2019, farmers harvested around 209 thousand tons of sugar beets from 14.9 thousand hectares of land.
