Delegation of Turkmenistan led by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov on Friday arrived in Afghanistan’s capital of Kabul for a working visit.
According to Turkmen Foreign Ministry’s press release, during the visit, the Turkmen delegation held a number of constructive negotiations with high-ranking representatives of the Afghan government. In particular, Foreign Minister Meredov held meetings with Afghan Foreign Minister Hanif Atmar, Afghan Minister of Hajj and Religious Affairs Mohammad Qasim Halimi and other high-ranking officials of the country.
During the talks, the sides considered a wide range of issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between the two neighboring countries. The officials also exchanged views on the comprehensive expansion of Turkmen-Afghan cooperation on all aspects of mutual interest.
During a Friday meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov discussed the planned working trip of the Turkmen delegation to Afghanistan and noted the importance of the matters that will be discussed. In this regard, the Head of State signed a Resolution on sending a Turkmen delegation with a working trip to Afghanistan and addressed a number of relevant instructions to Turkmen Foreign Minister.
