The total amount of transactions concluded in foreign currency at the auctions of the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan over the past week exceeded $9.918 million, Turkmenistan newspaper reported on Monday.
For foreign currency, businesses based in China, the U.K. and Turkey purchased total and calcined petroleum coke produced at the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries.
In addition, businesses from Russia, the U.A.E., the U.K., Turkey and Uzbekistan purchased colorless sheet glass and cotton yarn for foreign currency.
Business circles from the U.A.E., the U.K., Turkey and Kazakhstan purchased cotton yarn for over 21.248 million manats.
For the domestic market, local businesses purchased polypropylene, polypropylene bags and co-extruded polypropylene film produced at the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries, and hand-made carpets, cotton fiber and plastic products for over 105.29 million manats.
State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan registered a total of 93 transactions last week.
Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries is a regional leader in the production of refined and petrochemical products, such as gasoline, kerosene, diesel fuel, polypropylene, lubricants, liquefied gas and bitumen. The products are in high demand in a number of CIS countries, Europe and Asia.
