Türkmenhowaýollary Agency Launches Parcel Shipping Service
The category of cargo allowed for shipment by air includes goods, documents, printed publications and books.

Türkmenhowaýollary (Turkmenistan Airlines) Agency’s Turkmenabat International Airport (TIA) on January 21 launched a new service for shipping parcels within the country.

The new service makes it possible to send a parcel weighing up to 5 kg from the passenger terminal. The cost of sending ranges from 37 manats to 63 manats, depending on the size of the parcel, TIA told Business Turkmenistan.

The category of cargo allowed for shipment by air includes goods, documents, printed publications and books.

The list of cargo prohibited to ship through the airport’s passenger terminal includes flammable and explosive objects, any types of weapons, electric shock devices, narcotic and psychotropic substances, poisonous plants, national and foreign currency, perishable foodstuffs, goods that pose a threat to employees and loaders, jewelry and animals.

Turkmenabat International Airport opened on February 26, 2018. The capacity of the air harbor is designed to serve 500 passengers per hour.
