Turkmenistan to Test 112, 911 Emergency Telephone Numbers
911 and 112 phone numbers are common emergency telephone numbers that can be dialed free of charge in most parts of the world.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during a working trip to the capital and Ahal velayat on Tuesday noted that when calling an ambulance via the 03 telephone number, the service is unable to automatically locate the patient, and proposed to test the 112 or 911 telephone numbers that are used in world practice.

The Head of State also emphasized the importance of expanding the varieties and increasing the level of medical services provided to the population, the country’s official media reports.

The Turkmen President stressed that the ambulance services must meet modern requirements, and the management of incoming calls and their execution must be carried out in a digital format.

“In particular, when calling 112, the relevant service can locate the person in need of assistance, and the medical institution, upon the person’s hospitalization, can get access to the patient's medical record,” President Berdimuhamedov said adding that this will increase the effectiveness of the medical service.

Turkmen government official also reported to the Head of State on the construction of the Ahal velayat Health Department’s Administrative Center, the hospital with 360 beds, the medical center for oncology with 150 beds, and the medical center for maternal and child health with 150 beds in the new administrative center of Ahal velayat.

911 and 112 phone numbers are common emergency telephone numbers that can be dialed free of charge in most parts of the world. The number 112 is used in some countries in Europe and Asia, and 911 in the United States.
