Turkmen-Turkish Business Council Mulls Turkmen Gas Supplies to Europe

The 2nd meeting of the Turkmen-Turkish Business Council, held online on Thursday, discussed the organization of a forum in Istanbul this year to establish multilateral cooperation in order to diversify the sales channels of oil and gas resources, which are among the important export products of Turkmenistan.

The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of Turkey to Turkmenistan Togan Oral, the head of the Turkish Foreign Economic Relations Committee (DEIK) Nail Olpak, the Chairman of the Turkmen-Turkish Business Council Halil Avci, the Chief Manager of the Turkmen-Turkish bank Kazim Gundogar, as well as several entrepreneurs, the Turkish state TV channel TRT Avaz reports.

The Turkmen side was represented by the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Dovletgeldi Rejepov, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Turkey Ishanguly Amanliyev, and a board member of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan (UIET) Tachmyrat Gurdov.

The meeting participants expressed their support for the use of tripartite mechanism Turkey-Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan in order to export natural gas from Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan to Turkey and Europe.

The sides also considered the topics proposed for the agenda of the sixth meeting of the Turkmen-Turkish Intergovernmental Economic Commission.

The Turkmen-Turkish Business Council works to exchange Turkey's achievements and experience in small and medium-sized businesses with Turkmenistan.
