Stepan Gurzhiy Appointed as Lukoil President's Envoy to Turkmenistan

General Director of Lukoil Uzbekistan Operating Company Stepan Gurzhiy was appointed as Lukoil President's Envoy to Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan.

The Russian oil and gas company Lukoil’s Management Committee made the relevant decision, the company said in its Monday press release.

The company added that Stepan Gurzhiy will be responsible for enhancing cooperation of Lukoil Group in the aforementioned countries.

The Russian multinational energy company participates in projects in all these countries, except for Turkmenistan. In a meeting with the Head of the Lukoil Vagit Alekperov in Ashgabat on February 18, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed Turkmen side’s support for the company's intent to participate in the development of the Dostluk field, as well as its readiness to consider specific investment proposals for the implementation of the project.
