Turkmenistan has sent humanitarian aid to the Astrakhan oblast of the Russian Federation as a sign of friendship and good-neighborliness on the basis of the President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov’s relevant Decree, the official media of Turkmenistan reported on Friday.
Productive interaction with the regions of Russia is an integral part of the Turkmen-Russian interstate dialogue, the state media report said, adding that the delivery of Turkmen products to the Astrakhan oblast is a manifestation of goodwill in rendering fraternal assistance to the nearest neighbor.
On Thursday, Russia delivered about 12 tons of medical supplies to Turkmenistan as humanitarian aid, including medicines, protective clothing, masks and medical equipment.
At the beginning of this year, Turkmenistan approved the use of Russia’s second COVID-19 vaccine, EpiVacCorona, developed by the State Research Center for Virology and Biotechnology Vector.
Turkmenistan is the first country in Central Asia to officially approve the use of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine.
