Delegations of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan during a consular consultation held online on Tuesday discussed the improvement of the legal framework for the movement of citizens through the border points of the two countries, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan said in its press release.
The Kazakh delegation was headed by the Director of the Consular Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Bauyrzhan Akatayev, and the Turkmen side was led by the head of the Consular Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Annamyrat Altiyev, according to the statement.
During the consultations, the parties discussed details on the terms of the procedure for crossing the border by citizens of the two countries, the issuance of visas to citizens who use transport, issues related to the resettlement of Kandas – ethnic Kazakhs – to Kazakhstan.
The sides also considered issues on expanding bilateral cooperation in the field of protecting the rights and interests of their citizens.
At the end of the consultations, the parties confirmed their readiness to further strengthen cooperation across the entire spectrum of consular relations.
