Transport and Logistics Center of Turkmenistan (TULM) Open Joint-Stock Company facilitates the transportation of the first express freight train, consisting of 25 40-foot containers, from Turkey to Uzbekistan.
The TULM told Business Turkmenistan that the train departed from Bogazkopru station in Istanbul on April 10 this year. The container train’s freight was transported to the Turkmenbashi International Seaport by the Teymur Akhmedov feeder ship on April 21.
This transportation of the express freight train is carried out by the TULM and the Azerbaijan Railways’ ADY Container subsidiary.
The container express train is expected to cover 3,692 kilometers in 460 hours. Currently, the TULM is working on transit documents of the container train that arrived to Turkmenistan, on the dispatch of containers by rail to Uzbekistan's city of Urgench.
In the future, TULM plans to combine all transit containers at the container terminal of the Turkmenbashi International Seaport and send them by express train to neighboring countries such as Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Afghanistan.
