Turkmen, Turkish Presidents Mull Strengthening of Bilateral Ties
The Presidents of Turkmenistan and Turkey noted the presence of solid potential for expanding partnership.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan in a telephone conversation on Wednesday reaffirmed the commitment of both countries to fraternal ties and stressed that every effort will be made to intensify productive interaction in a number of priority areas.

The Heads of the two countries noted the presence of solid potential for expanding partnership and spoke in favor of building fruitful relations in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian spheres the official media of Turkmenistan reports.

The sides also exchanged views on key issues of cooperation, which is successfully developing both in a bilateral format and within the framework of leading international organizations.

During the phone talk, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed condolences to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the demise of his father – Myalikguly Berdimuhamedov.

On Wednesday, the Turkmen President also held a telephone conversation with the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon. During the conversation, the Heads of the States spoke in favor of stepping up trade and economic ties and noted the presence of solid potential in such areas as transport, oil and gas industry, electric energy and agriculture.

President Emomali Rahmon expressed condolences to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the demise of his father and conveyed words of sympathy on behalf of the Tajik people.
