As of April 1, 2021, the total amount of deposits of citizens of Turkmenistan in credit institutions amounted to 29.82 billion manats, which is 5.4% more compared to same period of 2020. In February 2020, this figure stood at 27.593 billion manats, according to the data of Central Bank of Turkmenistan.
As of April 1, 2021, the total amount of deposits of Turkmen citizens in joint-stock commercial banks amounted to 6.424 billion manats, which is 253% more compared to same period of 2020. In April 2020, the total amount of these deposits was over 2.5 billion manats.
According to the Turkmen Central Bank, as of April 1, 2021, the total amount of deposits of citizens of Turkmenistan in state commercial banks amounted to 22.650 billion manats, and the total amount of their deposits in branches of foreign banks was 7 million manats.
On April 12 this year in Ashgabat, the opening ceremonies of new headquarters of the Türkmenbaşy State Commercial Bank and the Senagat Joint-Stock Commercial Bank were held with the participation of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
In accordance with the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan dated October 9, 2020, the Halkbank State Commercial Bank of Turkmenistan became an open joint-stock bank.
