The Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held talks with the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of China Le Yucheng at the building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan on Sunday. The officials discussed issues related to the working visit of the Turkmen delegation to China.
The sides focused on the preparation of the meeting of the foreign ministers of Central Asia countries and China scheduled for May 12 this year in the Chinese city of Xi'an, and the holding of bilateral inter-ministerial political consultations, the official media of Turkmenistan reports.
The diplomats also discussed cooperation in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic and expressed their intention to continue close interaction in this direction.
President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed a Resolution on May 9, appointing the heads of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Chinese Committee for Cooperation and its subcommittees from the Turkmen side.
The Turkmen delegation’s visit to China’s city of Xi'an lasts from May 9 to May 12. The delegation will discuss issues of bilateral cooperation between Turkmenistan and China, and participate in the meeting of foreign ministers in the Central Asia – China format.
