Turkmen Businesses Contribute to Import Substitution in Construction Industry
Enterprises processing the rich reserves of natural resources have opened and continue to open in Turkmenistan.

An active and consistent policy of comprehensive support for small and medium-sized businesses and entrepreneurial initiatives of producers in Turkmenistan, contributed to attracting businesses to create new productions, modernize existing enterprises, and produce products that already compete with imported analogues. Enterprises processing the rich reserves of natural resources have opened and continue to open in the country.

One of such enterprises is the complex for the production of aerated concrete products and dry building mixtures of Ukyply Kärdeşler Individual Enterprise in Baharly etrap of Ahal velayat. A high-tech line for the production of autoclaved aerated concrete with a daily capacity of 500 cubic meters and a workshop for the production of different dry building mixtures with a daily capacity of 100 tons process local natural materials – quartz sand, limestone and gypsum, mined in Balkan velayat.

A production complex with an annual capacity of about two hundred thousand tons of ceramic building materials was built and launched by Döwletli Döwran Economic Society in Halach etrap of Lebap velayat. The complex is the country’s first fully automated plant focused on the production of a wide range of ceramic decorative products – clinker bricks, thermoblocks for partitions and paving stones for sidewalks. The enterprise can annually produce around 80 million pieces of finishing hollow bricks from local raw materials.

Sabur Timur Taşew Individual Enterprise, one of the largest producers of dry building mixtures and gypsum board in Turkmenistan, processes natural resources of the country’s richest region. The enterprise, located in Koytendag etrap of Lebap velayat, produces gypsum from local raw materials, dry building mixtures – a putty for ground and final finishing of premises. The company produces up to 60 thousand tons of high-quality mixtures annually.

Erjel-Begenç company in Gokdepe etrap of Ahal velayat has developed a technology and mastered the production of dozens of types of facing materials from local raw materials. To this end, the company launched three production lines at once for the manufacture of concrete paving stones – paving slabs, decorative panels for side-by-side walls and street curbs.

Dana Dünýä IE with production facilities in Turkmenabat is expanding the manufacture of building materials from secondary raw materials. The company produces several types of strong and durable products used in construction, including two types of composite paving slabs, building blocks on a polymer-sand base, facade tiles and roof shingles.

Ak Hünji IE in Mary velayat produces more than 100 types of decorative ceiling profiles made of expanded polystyrene for interior decoration and over 400 types of decorative profiles and architectural elements for exterior decoration of buildings, heat and sound insulation blocks and plates of different densities, sandwich panels made of expanded polystyrene plates and mineral wool (basalt fiber).

The mini-plant for the production of facing slabs, built in Dashoguz velayat, has launched the production of a wide range of paving slabs and other concrete products, introducing the SISTROM technology at the enterprise. The owner of a plant, Azad Sabirov, has introduced technology and equipment processing ordinary cement and sand into facing materials of a new generation.

Enterprises in Turkmenistan for the production of basalt fiber, pipes, bricks, reinforced concrete structures, waterproofing materials, washed sand, expanded polystyrene, expanded clay, emulsions and paints, electric cables and hoses, curb stones and tiles, dry building mixtures, bricks and other construction materials also contribute to the import substitution.
