Turkmenistan to Buy 1.5 Million Doses of Sinopharm COVID-19 Vaccine

Turkmenistan will purchase 1.5 doses of Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed the relevant Resolution at a meeting with the heads of the Emergency Commission to Combat the Spread of Diseases on Sunday.

The document authorizes the Ministry of Healthcare and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan to conclude a contract with China National Biotec Group, a subsidiary of China’s Sinopharm, for the purchase of the COVID-19 vaccines, the official media of Turkmenistan reports.

Signing the document, the Turkmen Leader stressed that the state will direct all necessary funds to protect the health of the people.

The meeting’s agenda also included discussions on additional measures for the prevention of infectious diseases and matters related to the recreation of the citizens of the country in the Avaza National Tourist Zone.

Sinopharm shot is the first COVID-19 vaccine approved for use in China.
