Turkmen President Attends Opening of Türkmeniň Ak Öýi in Balkan
New Türkmeniň Ak Öýi building is intended for holding forums and various public events.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during his visit to the country’s western velayat of Balkan on Wednesday took part in the opening ceremony of the Türkmeniň Ak Öýi (Turkmen White Yurt) building and the nearby premise for sadaqah in Balkanabat city, the country’s official media reports.

Türkmeniň Ak Öýi building, intended for holding forums and various public events, houses a large concert hall equipped with all the necessary equipment, a spacious hall, offices and other specialized premises. The building complex also has a separate premise with 3 thousand seats for holding sadaqah.

The Head of State noted that Türkmeniň Ak Öýi, embodying the noble traditions of the Turkmen people, will play an important role in the successful implementation of the activities underway in Balkan velayat, will contribute to the development of Turkmen culture and art, education of youth in the spirit of patriotism, national mentality, hard work and high morality.

On the same day, President of Turkmenistan took part in the groundbreaking ceremony of a new international airport in Jebel town with a capacity of 100 passengers per hour. The construction of the complex is financed from the Loan Agreement concluded between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Abu Dhabi Development Fund. The contractor of the airport will be determined following the tender.

The total area of the new airport, which will employ around 200 people, will be 275 hectares.

According to the project, the complex consists of 15 main structures, including passenger and cargo terminals, a control center, a rescue and fire service building, a specialized airfield and ground handling facilities for air liners.

The new airport will also have a modern artificial runway with a length of 3,200 meters, two taxiways and a parking lot for six aircraft and four helicopters.

For ground handling of aircraft, the new airport is expected to be equipped with 45 types of special equipment.

Noting the importance of the timely commissioning of facilities and ensuring their high quality, Turkmen President wished everyone success in their activities.

In late-June, Türkmeniň Ak Öýi building opened in Lebap velayat’s Turkmenabat city. A similar Türkmeniň Ak Öýi building is also expected to open in Turkmenistan’s northern velayat of Dashoguz this year.
