Iranian President-Elect Invited to Pay Official Visit to Turkmenistan

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov invited the Iranian President-elect Sayyid Ebrahim Raisi to pay an official visit to Turkmenistan and attend the summit of the Heads of Caspian littoral states and the summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) scheduled to be held in the country this year. 

In a telephone conversation on Tuesday, the interlocutors exchanged congratulations on the Muslim’s Eid al-Adha, the official media of Turkmenistan reports.

The Turkmen Leader once again congratulated Seyed Ebrahim Raisi on his victory in the recent Iranian presidential elections and wished him success in his responsible state activities.

“We attach special importance to the progressive build-up and strengthening of all-round ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran,” President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said.

Noting the high level of established bilateral cooperation, Turkmen President emphasized that Iran was and remains a strategic trade-economic partner with which productive cooperation is actively developing in such important areas as fuel-energy, transport -communication spheres, in construction and agriculture.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov invited Ebrahim Raisi to pay an official visit to Turkmenistan at any time convenient for him, and take part in the forthcoming sixth Summit of the Heads of the Caspian States and the 15th High-Level Meeting of the Heads of the Member States of the Organization for Economic Cooperation scheduled to take place in Turkmenistan in October and November this year.

In the 13th presidential elections in Iran held in June, Ebrahim Raisi was elected President of the country with more than 62% of the votes. He will be inaugurated in August 5.
