UN General Assembly Adopts Resolution on Transport Initiated by Turkmenistan
The Foreign Minister congratulated the Turkmen President on his foreign policy achievement.

UN General Assembly adopted a new Resolution initiated by Turkmenistan on ensuring stable and reliable international transport links for sustainable development during and after the coronavirus pandemic, Vice-Premier and Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov reported on Monday via video link to President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

On July 29 of this year, at the 96th plenary meeting of the 75th session of the UN General Assembly, the Resolution initiated by the President of Turkmenistan entitled “Strengthening the links between all modes of transport to achieve stable and reliable international transport for sustainable development during and after the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic” was adopted, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry said in its press release. The Resolution was cosponsored by 48 states.

The Foreign Minister congratulated the Turkmen President on his foreign policy achievement and underlined that the adoption by the UN General Assembly of the Resolution initiated by the Head of State  serves yet as one more proof of thoughtful approach of the state to the issues of strengthening international transport cooperation with the aim of sustainable development that is particularly consonant with the international and regional efforts on overcoming the pandemic, its economic and social consequences.

This new Resolution enriched the series of resolutions in the field of sustaining collaboration between all modes of transport adopted at the initiative of Turkmenistan in 2014, 2015 and 2017.
