Avaza Hosts Economic Forum of Central Asian Countries
Representatives of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan attended the forum.

Economic Forum of Central Asian Countries took place on Friday at the Avaza Congress Center in Turkmenistan’s western velayat of Balkan, on the sidelines of the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia.

The main goal of the forum was to discuss and adopt decisions on comprehensively improving the investment climate in the region and attracting investments in promising areas of interaction between countries, as well as developing a multilateral dialogue in the field of innovation, the chemicals industry, energy, transport and communications, the official media of Turkmenistan reports.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov made a welcoming speech at the opening ceremony of the plenary session of the forum. Heads and representatives of relevant ministries of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. Representatives of the public and private sectors of the region’s countries, international and regional financial institutions attended the event via video link.

The forum included thematic sessions in such areas as trade-economic and investment opportunities of Central Asian countries, promising areas of cooperation between Central Asian countries in the energy and chemicals industry, as well as cooperation between Central Asian countries in the transport-logistics sector.

The participants exchanged views on the priority areas of economic integration, in the context of developing new partnership conditions for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Within the framework of the forum, the participants developed recommendations aimed at achieving stable and balanced economic growth, expanding and effectively using the potential of the Central Asian countries, in order to strengthen their economies and develop good neighborly relations.

Upon the outcomes of the forum, the participants adopted the Final Document of the Economic Forum of Central Asian Countries.

At the end of the event, delegations of the countries held bilateral meetings and signed a package of bilateral documents, which includes 85 agreements in various areas of interaction.

After the event, the delegates of the forum also took part in the exhibition of national products of the countries of Central Asia, visited the international festival of national cousins of the countries of the region, and then took part in a gala concert of cultural artists from the countries of Central Asia.
