Turkmen President Outlines Main Tasks For Combating Infectious Diseases
Turkmen President noted the importance of studying international experience in combating coronavirus.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a Cabinet of Ministers meeting on Wednesday. The meeting participants considered the results of the work of the Emergency Commission of Turkmenistan to Combat the Spread of Diseases, the country’s official media reports.

The meeting was attended by members of the government, State Security Council, heads of ministries and departments, khyakims (mayors and governors) of Ashgabat and velayats, and media representatives.

During the meeting, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov outlined the primary tasks aimed at preventing the spread of coronavirus in the country.

Focusing on the issue of preparing proposals for limiting the holding of mass events, the Turkmen Leader pointed out the importance of joint and comprehensive work of ministries and departments in this direction.

The Head of State also emphasized the importance of improving the transport services provided to the population, in particular, if necessary, to increase the number of public transport in Ashgabat and strengthen control over compliance with the rules established by the commission.

It is necessary to implement COVID-19 preventive measures in ministries, sectoral departments, enterprises, regardless of ownership, and strictly observe the rules of sanitation and epidemiology, study international experience in this regard, analyze relevant laws and prepare proposals for making appropriate changes and additions, Turkmen President noted.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stressed the need to carry out planned measures in order to ensure normal temperature conditions in organizations, enterprises, and houses on cold autumn and winter days.

The Cabinet of Ministers meeting also considered other relevant issues and made appropriate decisions.
