Exports of Turkmenistan in the first half of 2021 increased by 12.1% compared to the same period last year, the country’s official media reported on Monday.
In January-June period of this year, the exports accounted for 60% of the country's foreign trade turnover, while imports accounted for 40%.
With the aim of increasing exports, Turkmenistan creates its trading houses in its main partner countries. The country's trading houses operate in Russia, Belarus, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, the United Arab Emirates and other countries.
Domestic products are also sold daily at the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan. Turkmenistan regularly hosts international exhibitions, virtual fairs, business conferences and economic forums in order to promote its export products, search for new partners and establish trade relations, according to the report.
Turkmenistan presently trades with more than 80 countries.
