KAMAZ, the Russian manufacturer of trucks, intends to launch the production of special equipment in Turkmenistan.
The project on establishing the production of special equipment in Turkmenistan was discussed during the meeting of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with General Director of KAMAZ Sergey Kogogin. He was part of a delegation from Tatarstan, which arrived in Ashgabat on a working visit, the press service of the company reported on Tuesday.
The sides have prepared a list of special superstructures proposed for installation in Turkmenistan. The partners discuss the possible assembly of tank trucks for drinking and industrial water, fuel trucks, loader-crane trucks, garbage trucks, aerial work platforms.
The construction and commissioning of the assembly building at the service center in Ashgabat is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2022.
The parties also discussed joint projects underway in Turkmen regions and the results of the implementation of a three-year contract for the supply of KAMAZ vehicles, signed in 2019.
During the period of cooperation, more than 11,000 KAMAZ vehicles have been delivered to be used in different sectors of the country's national economy. Among them were 2 thousand vehicles sold by KAMAZ over the past three years, under the contract for the supply of vehicles and spare parts, signed by the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan in 2019.
KAMAZ is also building its auto centers in the velayats of Turkmenistan. The official opening of the service center in Turkmenbashi is scheduled for late October 2021. The company will open a service center in Lebap by the end of 2021, and in Mary and Dashoguz in 2022.
