The Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan will conclude a contract with Uzbek companies for the purchase of agricultural equipment and tractor trailers, as well as chemicals in order to grow crops of wheat and cotton.
President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed the resolutions authorizing the signing of the contracts during the online cabinet meeting on Friday, the country’s official media reports.
According to the Presidential Resolution, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan is authorized to conclude a contract with the Uzsanoateksport Joint Stock Company for the purchase of agricultural equipment and tractor trailers in 2022-2023.
The Ministry will also conclude a contract with the Ifoda Agro Kimyo Himoya LLC for the purchase of chemicals against weeds and wheat diseases, as well as cotton pests in the 2022-2026 period.
Turkmen Chemicals State Concern will conclude contracts with Navoiy Milling and Uzkimyoimpeks limited liability companies for the purchase of 512 thousand tons of phosphate rock and chemical products in the 2022-2025 period.
The agreements on the conclusion of the contracts were reached during the 16th meeting of the Uzbek-Turkmen Intergovernmental Commission on Trade-Economic, Scientific-Technical and Cultural-Humanitarian Cooperation, which took place in September this year in Uzbekistan’s capital Tashkent. Within the framework of the meeting, the sides held negotiations aimed at increasing the trade turnover in the agro-industrial complex, mainly through the purchase of agricultural machinery and equipment, mineral fertilizers and chemicals for crop protection.
