A meeting of the foreign ministers of the CIS countries will take place in Minsk on October 14, the Belarusian news agency Belta reported last Thursday with reference to the statement of the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova during the briefing.
Zakharova said the heads of the CIS foreign ministries will exchange views on topical issues of the international agenda and interaction in the CIS format, discuss the draft statements on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Commonwealth, on the development of cooperation in migration sphere and on ensuring biological safety.
The meeting participants are also expected to approve the regulation on the international association of historians and archivists of the CIS countries. Its main task will be an objective and impartial assessment of the events of the past of the CIS, assistance in expanding access to archival documents and coordination of the work of scientists, according to the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
Zakharova added that the heads of the foreign ministries will also approve a plan for multi-level inter-ministerial consultations within the CIS for 2022.
This year, Belarus chairs the CIS, while Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan are co-chairs.
