Turkmenistan, UAE Discuss Cooperation Opportunities in Oil and Gas
Discussions included contributions and investments of Dragon Oil energy company in Turkmenistan.

Deputy Chairman of the cabinet of Turkmenistan Shahym Abdyrahmanov, overseeing the country's oil and gas industry, met with the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Turkmenistan Ahmed Al Hay Al Hameli in Ashgabat on Wednesday. The parties discussed bilateral ties, including opportunities for cooperation in the oil and gas field.

Discussions included contributions and investments of Dragon Oil, one of the largest Emirati oil and gas companies investing in Turkmenistan, the UAE’s WAM news agency reports.

The UAE’s Ambassador highlighted the significance of coordination and cooperation between the UAE and Turkmenistan in the field of oil, gas and energy, which in turn, will help boost relations between the two countries.

In early October, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov paid a working visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and took part in the opening ceremony of the National Day of Turkmenistan at the Expo 2020 Dubai.

During the visit, the Turkmen President held talks with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs of the UAE Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan. They attended a signing ceremony of several agreements and Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) between the two countries in the economic, investment, logistics and energy sectors.
