The Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov held talks with the Deputy Chairman of the cabinet of Turkmenistan Chary Gylyjov on Friday in Bishkek. The agenda of the talks included discussions on the issues of creating a joint fund.

The sides expressed satisfaction with the growth in trade indicators between Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan, which indicates the existing potential to increase mutual trade, the press service of the Kyrgyz government said.

Discussing energy cooperation, Akylbek Japarov emphasized the importance of the ongoing supplies of Turkmen electricity to Kyrgyzstan, along with the prospects for the supply of Turkmen natural gas to the country.

The officials also exchanged views on the issues of interaction in the transport, logistics, cultural and humanitarian fields.

The meeting between the senior government officials of Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan took place within the framework of the first European Union – Central Asia Economic Forum.
