Turkmenistan Becomes Main Supplier of Aviation Fuel to Georgia
Georgia’s total aviation fuel imports in January-October 2021 amounted to 73.5 thousand tons.

Turkmenistan in January-October 2021 exported 54.9 thousand tons of aviation fuel to Georgia, becoming the country’s main supplier of the products, the Baku-based Report news agency reported on Monday with reference to the Union of Oil Product Importers of Georgia.

Georgia’s total aviation fuel imports during the period amounted to 73.5 thousand tons, the increase of 54.7% compared to the same period last year.

Georgia’s other main aviation fuel suppliers are Azerbaijan (12 thousand tons) and Italy (10.5 thousand tons).

The Union said the significant increase in imports of aviation fuel is the result of the resumption of flights in the country. This upward trend is expected to continue in the coming months.

In the first half of 2021, Georgia imported 122.6 thousand tons of gasoline and diesel fuel from Turkmenistan. These supplies account for 23% of total imports of the products.
