President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a meet with President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Istanbul on Friday. The talks were held on the sidelines of the eight Turkic Council summit.
Following exchange of views on the state and prospects of cooperation, the Heads of States confirmed the commitment of the sides to further strengthening of partnership, the official media of Turkmenistan reports.
The Presidents outlined trade-economic sphere, energy, industry, transport and communications, construction industry among the priority areas of cooperation.
The Heads of Turkmenistan and Turkey also exchanged views on regional and global issues and stressed the will of the parties to continue constructive partnership within the framework of international organizations.
Focusing on the agenda of the eight Turkic Council summit, the Leaders expressed confidence that the Turkmenistan’s decision to join the organization as an observer will contribute to the further development of effective interstate cooperation in a wide range of areas.
At the end of the meeting, Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Recep Tayyip Erdogan reaffirmed their commitment to the development of Turkmen-Turkish cooperation.
