Turkmenistan’s Businesses to Receive 326 Thousand Hectares of Agricultural Land
The land plots will be allocated to agricultural producers for up to 99 years.

Turkmenistan will allocate more than 326 thousand hectares of land from a special agricultural land fund to private producers for the planting of crops. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov approved the relevant proposal during the online cabinet meeting on Tuesday.

The proposal was presented by the Deputy Chairman of the Government Esenmyrat Orazgeldiyev, overseeing the country’s agricultural complex, the country's official media reports.

The land plots will be allocated to agricultural producers for up to 99 years with the condition of using at least 70% of the arable land for the production of wheat, cotton and other crops included in the state order, according to the report.

Summing up the report, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stressed that private investment should become the basis for the creation of modern agricultural production and new jobs.

Having approved the submitted proposals, the Head of State instructed to coordinate the them with the relevant departments.
