Turkmen Customs Service Instructed to More Thoroughly Inspect Cross-Border Cargo
The Turkmen President pointed to the need for strict implementation of instructions on improving the operation of customs checkpoints.

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during a meeting of the State Security Council on Thursday instructed the Chairman of the State Customs Service Maksat Hudaykuliyev to ensure a more thorough inspection of cargo at the customs checkpoints of the country.

The State Customs Service Chairman briefed the Head of State on the work done in January-November, and on concrete steps taken to ensure proper inspection of goods crossing the border and modernization of the material and technical base of the customs service.

Following the briefing, the Head of State said the large-scale economic reforms implemented in Turkmenistan resulted in the growing interest of the international community in the country, the steady increase in the volume of goods entering the country and transit cargo flows.

Pointing to the need for strict implementation of instructions on improving the operation of customs checkpoints, the Turkmen President instructed to ensure a more thorough inspection of cargo.

The State Security Council meeting also featured discussion on a series of other important issues and made relevant decisions on them.
