Turkmenistan has drafted a Law on Social Services, which defines the legal, organizational and economic basis for the provision of social services to certain categories of persons.
The bill was considered and approved at the 16th session of the Mejlis chamber of the Milli Gengesh, the bicameral parliament of Turkmenistan, via video link on Saturday, the country’s official media reports.
The session was also attended by representatives of numerous ministries and sectoral departments, as well as the media.
The new bill defines and discloses the essence of the concept of "social service", which provides for a set of measures and actions taken for certain categories of persons aimed at improving their living conditions, expanding the ability to independently provide for their basic individual needs.
The parliamentarians also considered draft laws on the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases, on hunting and protection of hunting resources, as well as laws on improving the current legislation.
The parliamentarians unanimously approved and adopted the draft legal acts, which have been brought out for discussion at the session of the Mejlis.
