Turkmenistan to Provide Humanitarian Aid to Neighboring Afghanistan

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in the cabinet meeting on Friday signed the Decree on the provision of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan, the country’s official media reports.

In accordance with the signed document, the shipment will include products of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection, the Ministry of Textile Industry, the Türkmengaz (Turkmen Gas) State Concern, the Seydi Oil Refinery and the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan.

The document also instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country to ensure the dispatch and transfer of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan at a high organizational level in December 2021.

Turkmenistan regularly provides humanitarian aid to Afghanistan. The previous delivery included medicines, protective clothing for medical personnel and medical supplies, disinfectants, medicinal solutions, protective masks, surgical gloves, resources and drugs for the treatment of coronavirus infection for the needs of Afghanistan.
