President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on Saturday in Ashgabat received the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Baghdad Amreyev. The agenda of the meeting included discussions on the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the great Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Pyragy in the next three years in the Turkic world.
It is envisaged to erect monuments to Magtymguly Pyragy in the capitals of the Turkic world countries and to name streets in cities after the Turkmen poet. The Secretariat of the organization and Turkmen government will carry out joint work in this direction, the official media of Turkmenistan reports.
During the exchange of views on the prospects for further partnership, the sides highlighted the presence of a diverse potential for building up mutually beneficial trade-economic ties, stimulating business-investment activity, and implementing joint projects.
Baghdad Amreyev said all the valuable proposals expressed by the Turkmen Leader will certainly be taken into account by the Secretariat of the Organization of Turkic States, adding that the organization will make efforts together with the Turkmen side to implement them.
At the end of the meeting, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and his guest expressed confidence that constructive cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Organization of Turkic States will continue to develop successfully.
