President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov during the online meeting with government officials on Monday highlighted the importance of full supply of products to local markets on the eve of the New Year.
The meeting was attended by numerous deputy chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, heads of ministries and sectoral departments, khyakims (governors) of velayats and the city of Ashgabat, the country's official media reports.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Chary Gylyjov, overseeing the country’s trade complex, Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations Orazmyrat Gurbannazarov and Chairman of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan Dovran Hudayberdiyev briefed on their activities.
Following the briefing, the Turkmen Leader emphasized the key role of the trade complex, gave a number of instructions to improve the culture of trade, quality of services, study of local demand, and expand implementation of the digital system.
Taking into account the main role of small and medium-sized businesses in this matter, appropriate measures should be taken to improve activities in the private sector, the Head of State emphasized and addressed a number of instructions to the relevant government officials.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said violations are committed in carrying out activities aimed at expanding the range of products, as well as in carrying out some organizational work. In this regard, the Head of State announced strict reprimands to the Vice-Premier Gylyjov and Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations Gurbannazarov for improper performance of official duties, weakening control over the activities of subordinate institutions, with the last warning to rectify the shortcomings as soon as possible.
During the meeting, the velayat khyakims briefed on preparations for the upcoming sowing season to obtain a rich harvest next year.
