The 11th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Turkmen-Kazakh Commission on Economic, Scientific-Technical and Cultural Cooperation took place in Ashgabat on Monday.
The meeting was co-chaired by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Chary Gylyjov and Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Roman Sklyar.
Heads and representatives of several ministries and departments of the two countries also attended the meeting, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reported on its website.
The meeting participants identified cooperation in the oil and gas, transport and communications sectors as a priority direction for bilateral and multilateral interaction.
The sides also discussed the implementation of agreements reached at previous meetings of the commission in Nur-Soltan and Ashgabat.
In this regard, the officials expressed the need for further intensification of effective partnerships in trade-economic, energy and transport-logistics, agriculture, food and processing industries.
The parties signed final protocol upon the outcomes of the meeting.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Roman Sklyar also held talks other Turkmen government officials, including Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
