Turkmenistan to Build Isobutane Plant
The specialists carried out a study on the possibility of producing isobutane from natural gas in Turkmenistan and its economic profitability.

Türkmengaz (Turkmengas) State Concern held an international tender for the construction of a plant for the production of isobutane from natural gas, which resulted in the selection of a winner, Charymyrat Purchekov, the Deputy Chairman of the Government for the industrial and construction complex, announced during the cabinet meeting hosted by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov at Ruhiyet palace in Ashgabat on Friday.

In his report, Charymyrat Purchekov said the country studies available prospects for the production of import-substituting products at the Ahal GTG plant, Kiyanly polymer plant and Balkanabat iodine plant.

The Vice-Premier briefed about the study by national specialists on the possibility of producing isobutane from natural gas and its economic profitability.

Following the report, the Turkmen Leader stressed the importance of steadily increasing the production of high quality chemicals in the country to fully meet the demand of domestic consumers and exports, and tasked the Vice-Premier to review the issue of concluding contracts with foreign companies with the necessary experience and technology.

The cabinet meeting also discussed a number of draft documents and other matters of national importance.
