Deputy Chairman of the Turkmen Government, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov held talks with a number of officials in Moscow on Tuesday.
During the meeting between Rashid Meredov and Chairman of the Russian Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs Grigory Karasin, the sides discussed preparations for the Inter-Parliamentary Forum of Central Asian countries and the Russia and the Women's Dialogue Forum in Ashgabat, which are scheduled for this year.
The parties also discussed preparations for the II Caspian Economic Forum in Russia and the VI Summit of the heads of the Caspian states in Turkmenistan, the press service of the Federation Council Committee on Foreign Affairs.
Meredov also met with Mikhail Petrakov, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the Delimitation and Demarcation of the State Border of the Russian Federation with Neighboring States - Members of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the Head of the Russian delegation at multilateral negotiations on the Caspian Sea. The parties agreed to cooperate closely for the successful preparation and holding of the VI Summit of the Heads of the Caspian States planned for this year in Turkmenistan.
The Turkmen delegation also met with the Deputy Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee Ilhom Nematov. The meeting included a substantive discussion on organizing the work of the CIS observer mission for the March 12 presidential elections in Turkmenistan.
Rashid Meredov also held talks with his counterpart Sergey Lavrov. Upon the outcomes of the meeting, Sergey Lavrov and Rashid Meredov adopted a statement on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between countries and signed the Plan of Events dedicated to this date and the Plan of Main Areas of Bilateral Cooperation in the Field of International Information Security for 2022-2025.
