Over 2.7 Thousand National Observers Monitor Turkmen Presidential Elections
The national observers, within the limits of their powers, monitor the compliance of the election campaign with the law.

The Central Commission for Elections and Referendums (Central Election Commission) of Turkmenistan has registered 2,726 national observers to monitor the March 12 early presidential elections.

Of the total 544 national observers were registered from the Democratic Party of Turkmenistan, 355 from the Party of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, 390 from the Agrarian Party of Turkmenistan, 520 from the trade unions of Turkmenistan, 290 from the Union of Women of Turkmenistan, 525 from the Magtymguly Youth Organization of Turkmenistan, 84 from citizen groups, and 18 observers from candidates, the Central Election Commission of Turkmenistan announced on Thursday.

The commission added that the women comprise 47.76% of the national observers.

The national observers, within the limits of their powers, monitor the compliance of the election campaign with the law.

The mission of observers of the Commonwealth of Independent States also monitors the election campaign.

The Central Election Commission of Turkmenistan has registered nine candidates for the highest state post of Turkmenistan since the start of presidential election campaign on February 14.
