Turkmen private sector exported 10.5 thousand tons of tomatoes in January this year.

The Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision (Rosselkhoznadzor) announced on Thursday that from March 5 this year, it cancels previously imposed restrictions and resumes imports into Russia of vegetable products from nine countries, without regard to restrictions on producer enterprises.

The agency said it allows to import vegetables without restrictions to the following countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. In addition, now businesses from Turkey may export tomatoes, peppers, zucchini and eggplant.

The decision was made on the basis of analysis of information presented by national plant protection organizations of the above mentioned countries as well as on measures taken to prevent violations of phytosanitary requirements of the Russian Federation and EAEU member states.
