Ministry of Healthcare and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan (MHMIT) on March 3-4 received laboratory equipment under the Turkmenistan COVID-19 Response Project funded by the World Bank.
The medical equipment was handed over by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the project implementing entity, the UNDP office in Turkmenistan announced on social media on Monday.
The delivered equipment are 15 autoclaves with 75 liter capacity, 6 autoclaves with 175 liter capacity, and PCR tests for COVID-19 testing.
The $20 million Turkmenistan COVID-19 Response Project was launched last year to help the country respond and prepare for COVID19 pandemic focusing on strengthening the national testing and treatment capacities, upgrading the skills of medical workers, procuring of reagents, medicines and medical equipment, and addressing the related health and social risks. The project also supports introduction of digital solutions for surveillance of infectious diseases.
