President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, together with the Head of the Halk Maslakhaty chamber of Milli Gengesh Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, on Monday at the Hezreti Omar mosque in the capital gave a memorial iftar on the occasion of the commemoration day of Myalikguly Berdimuhamedov, which this year fell on the blessed month of Ramadan, the country's media reports.
In a conversation with the Mufti, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and his father Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that honorary elders of the country should pay attention to the continuation of centuries-old exemplary national traditions and principles, education of the younger generation in the spirit of true patriotism and effectively conduct relevant work.
The Head of State, said today, following the sacred traditions of Turkmen people, he gives iftar on the occasion of the day of commemoration of his grandfather Myalikguly Berdimuhamet oglu, which this year fell on the blessed month of Ramadan and thanked those present for the honor that they had by participating in the iftar.
With the advent of the iftar time, the guests were served dishes of national cuisine. At the end of the meal, the Mufti of Turkmenistan offered prayer and wished that the iftar meal given by the Head of Turkmenistan be accepted by the Almighty.
