Loans of Turkmen Banks Exceed 79.45 Billion Manats
The total amount of loans provided to citizens and non-state entrepreneurs in national currency as of March 1, 2022 amounted to 15.884 billion manats.

As of March 1, 2022, the total amount of loans allocated by credit institutions of Turkmenistan to enterprises, organizations and population in national currency totaled 79.455 billion manats, which is 11.3% more compared to the same period of 2021. Back then, the loans issued by banks totaled 70.511 billion manats, according to the data of Central Bank of Turkmenistan.

As of March 1 this year, the state institutions and enterprises received loans in the amount of 54.328 billion manats, which exceeds the relevant indicator for the same period of 2021 by 3.2%. In 2021 such loans totaled 52.595 billion manats.

According to the Central Bank statistics as of March 1 this year, the amount of loans in national currency provided to non-state companies and organizations in national currency totaled 9.243 billion manats, a 63.2% increase compared to the same period of 2021 (5.459 billion manats).

Moreover, the total amount of loans provided to citizens and non-state entrepreneurs in national currency as of March 1, 2022 amounted to 15.884 billion manats, which is 21.2% more compared to same period of 2021. Back then, this figure stood at 13.088 billion manats.

The total amount of non-cash transactions via bank cards in Turkmenistan in January and February of 2022 exceeded 1.71 billion manats.

The main task set for the banking system of the country is to facilitate non-cash payments by creating modern payment mechanisms, as well as the introduction of advanced technologies in the banking sector.
