The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Turkmenistan handed over a batch of medical products worth nearly $970 thousand to the Ministry of Healthcare and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan (MHMIT), the UNDP announced on Monday.
The delivery of antibody test-systems, mobile digital x-rays and medicines worth $969.97 thousand was carried out under the Turkmenistan COVID-19 Response Project funded by the World Bank.
The $20 million project is being implemented by the UNDP and the Ministry of Healthcare and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan with the UNICEF and the WHO office in Turkmenistan to help the country strengthen preparedness and response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Under the project, 998 thousand euros worth of 193 thousand test systems for PCR diagnostics of virus causing COVID-19 was delivered to the MHMIT last month.
