Turkey can help transit gas from Turkmenistan to foreign markets, Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey Alparslan Bayraktar said on Thursday during a speech at the 27th Energy Forum in Baku.

"Turkey wants to engage the entire infrastructure for domestic production in the context of domestic consumption and transportation of gas to foreign markets, including European markets, for existing suppliers through the pipelines of Azerbaijan, Russia and Iran," Bayraktar said.

He added that Ankara can also help transit the resources from Turkmenistan, Iraq and the Mediterranean to the foreign markets.

The Baku Energy Forum is taking place in Azerbaijan’s capital these days. The event is dedicated to global energy perspectives, financing of transition to green energy, gas supply issues, map of exploration and production opportunities in the Caspian region and a number of other topical issues. More than 400 delegates from 20 countries participate in this year's Baku Energy Forum.
