President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov will pay an official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Preparations for the first official visit of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Saudi Arabia was discussed in a telephone conversation between the Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and his Saudi counterpart Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud on Monday.
The sides discussed in detail the progress and prospects of bilateral cooperation. In particular, they identified a clear plan of joint activities to strengthen the Turkmen-Saudi relations in various fields, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry said in its press release.
In the context of preparations for the visit, the top diplomats agreed to arrange a visit by the Deputy Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia to Turkmenistan by the end of June to hold bilateral political consultations on a wide range of issues. They also agreed to organize the meeting of the Inter-Governmental Turkmen-Saudi Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation in Riyadh in the second half of this year.
The Turkmen Foreign Minister expressed gratitude to the Saudi side for the excellent organization of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov's two-day visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the beginning of this month to perform the Umrah.
During his visit to Saudi Arabia, the Head of Turkmenistan also visited the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina.
